THE EFFECT OF SELECTED MICROELEMENT FERTILIZERS MANUFACTURED BY ADOB COMPANY ON YIELD AND MALTING QUALITY OF SPRING BARLEY
Main Article Content
Abstract
The effect of foliar fertilization of Quench cultivar of spring barley with ADOB company preparations containing Cu, Mn and Fe (ADOB 2.0 Cu IDHA, ADOB Mn 2.0 and ADOB 2.0 Fe IDHA, respectively) on the grain yield, elements of crop compo-nents and brewing quality of the studied cultivar were evaluated. The malting usefulness of the grain, 5-day malt and congress worts were assessed according to Analityca EBC. It was stated that the application of foliar fertilization on barley plant with ADOB preparations with Mn and Fe in recommended dosages improved the grain yield of Quench cultivar malting barley by 0,37 tha-1; and 0.30 tha-1,respectively. Application of foliar fertil-ization with ADOB preparations containing Cu and Fe, regardless from the atmospheric conditions and with an average content of studied microelements in the soil, improved malting usefulness of the grain through an increase in brewhouse efficiency in the range of 1.2–4.4 p.p. in comparison to malts obtained from the grain of the plants without additional microelement fertilization.
